POKOTABI / Staminaen
スタミナ苑
Located in the Sunamachi Ginza shopping district in Kitasuna, Koto Ward, Staminaen serves quality yakiniku in an unpretentious setting, from signature thick-cut beef tongue to sauce-marinated short ribs and skirt steak.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Cooked gently over the grill until the surface turns fragrant and brown, thick-cut beef tongue is a cornerstone of the meal here. Situated along the Sunamachi Ginza shopping street, Staminaen relies on fresh sourcing and meticulous preparation to deliver cuts with sweet, melting fat and tender texture. The offerings include deep-flavored special thick-cut salted black tongue, salted tongue, and short ribs mounded with green onions, highlighting the best characteristics of each cut.
The homemade momi-dare marinade plays an equally vital role in elevating the meats. Ribs and premium skirt steak thoroughly coated in the savory-sweet, full-bodied sauce take on an appetizing char over the heat, pairing effortlessly with white rice. The menu is rounded out with traditional downtown yakiniku favorites, including scored upper rumen for satisfying chew, fresh premium beef intestines, and carefully prepped raw dishes like third stomach and heart sashimi.
For newcomers and groups, opting for the Shitamachi Yakiniku Course lets you sample the signature meats at a brisk pace, while the special meat boat platter incorporates shio-koji seasoned tongue. Pairing either option with a standalone all-you-can-drink plan covering draft beer and makgeolli naturally sets up an easygoing banquet.
The dining room features table seating alongside raised tatami areas, creating a relaxed setting suited to both families with young children and gatherings of friends. Staminaen is closed on Mondays and operates in the evenings from Tuesday to Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, lunch service is also offered, making the spot dependable for everything from quick midday meals to leisurely grilled feasts. Advance table bookings are accepted, which is helpful when planning family outings or visits on weekends.
